For seventy-two years ACME Incorporated has shipped anvils, springs, magnets, rockets, and 3,996 other catalog items to anyone who could describe what they wanted to build. What we have never shipped is a sentence about it. That changes today. This blog is where we’ll write down the things we usually only say across the shop floor: what we’re making, what broke on the way to making it, and what we learned when the plan met the part.
What you’ll find here
Expect short, plain-spoken posts from the people who actually turn the handles. Engineering will show up when a design goes sideways in an instructive way. Dispatch will show up when a warehouse does something worth bragging about (99.4% on-time is a number, not a boast, and we intend to move it). Sales will show up rarely, and only when they have a customer story we can’t resist telling.
What you won’t find here
No hype, no exclamation marks we didn’t earn, and no roadrunners. If a post reads like a brochure, somebody in Springfield will hear about it. We’re privately held, profitably boring, and proud of it, and the blog will sound the same way.
If there’s something you’d like us to build, or explain, tell us. Somebody should be able to order it by Tuesday.
